My 4th publication. This publication funded through CPS is used to help youth get back into school after being incarcerated. Before this publication you were given their clothes they came in to the jail with and a paper that told them what school and all of the instructions on how to get back to school. Now if your just getting out of jail would you keep that sheet of paper if you didn’t know just how important it was… I think not. Which mean only 30% of Chicago youth coming out of jail got back into school. This booklet is to change that percentage. Not only does it have instructions on how to get into school but also legal, heath, and creative resources to keep our youth safe. I am so proud to be apart of this project. Lets keep doing the work

I don't about this often but I teach art for quite a few orgs as my daily grind. Columbia College, Changing Worlds, Gary Comer Youth Center, Free Write Jail Arts Program, and I've collecting some amazing work from youth. Some of the classes art Animation, graphics illustration, ceramics, comic making, and even claymation. I have to say I really enjoy sharing the skills I've acquired over the years with the next generation and below are some of my favorites.

It's been a minute since I posted any Shmo Material. For those who don't know Shmo is a comic hero I made who embodies the abilities and costume of other comic heroes as long as he has comic book of that hero on his person. The only downfall is he keeps his same size and shape. If you go further back on this blog site you will find more information about this character. Also all of these shmos can be made into stickers and T-shirts if you all are interested in buying just send me an email. Karitheillustrator@gmail.com Enjoy - Kari

WOW It's been a long time since I've post anything on this blog but I'm still here. Since japan I've been teaching visual arts for numerous schools, doing a lot of music and art shows. Here are a few of the drawings I've been doing lately enjoy. Last time we checked in with each other I went to Japan to see one of my favorite music groups Bop Alloy. Bop Alloy, comprised of Baltimore, MD emcee Substantial and the Seattle, WA producer Marcus D, haven't set out to be the next group with a throwback sound, but to "make quality music that anybody, from any walk of life can enjoy," says Marcus. Im proud to call these guys friends now and they even came to Chicago in 2012 for a tour I put together called Wildhare, based off the tumblr title. My interactions with Bop Alloy inspired me to do a tribute drawings to all my favorite artist who make music in the same style of Nujabes. Nujabes Jun Seba-
